Food and Beverages is a Billion dollar industry in yachting!

Well the last nine months has gone past very quickly. My last blog was back in September 23. Much has happened in that time including adding three more people to our ever-growing team, but I think the main reason for me not writing the blogs is that that my right hand woman has been on maternity leave and not with one but three babies! She is now back working part time which gives me the structure to write my blogs, start my professional Instagram, update our website, so many facets to running a successful business these days…..

While she has been away lots of things have happened and are moving forwards at a quick pace. At the moment we are very busy organizing our Superyacht Foodie Fair which you might think is just another extension to Superyacht Foodie. Well YES and NO.

The Superyacht Foodie Fair is a continuation of our yearly event in September at the Antibes Yacht Club. But we have now decided to open it up to provisioning agents so they can join us to promote their products and services to the yacht crew that come to the event. This is a first of its kind networking and promotional fair for food and beverages in the yachting industry. I think its important to give the food and beverage industry in yachting a bit of space in the limelight as we are talking about a one billion dollar sector here globally.

Based on our research the crew food market is about 50 % of that sector with guest and owners making up the other half. It’s a tremendously important part of the superyacht industry and as yachting is entirely based around pleasure and experiences, great food and beverages naturally play a huge role in this.

There are many provisioning agents around a world lots of niche, very local operator,s but also some big global companies too. There is also a lot of synergy between the different provisioning companies. I think having an event where our Superyacht Foodie producers have the possibility to pitch their hand-picked products to the provisioning agents and yacht crew and at the same time the provisioning agents have te possibility to meet our producers and pitch their services and relationships with the global fleet is win – win.

The event will take place in the beautiful Antibes Yacht Club on the 21st of September. We will have lots of on throughout the day and plenty of good food and drinks. Last year we had more than 300 visitors and rerally enjoyed meeting such a great professional crowd.

As most of you know me already there is of course something else always in the pipeline. YES, something big and groundbreaking in our marketing toolbox is just about to be published, so please stay tuned on our social media channels to find out more.
